I'm a blogger and consumer reviewer. I have been an avid book lover from a very early age. I've been reviewing physical books, ebooks, and audiobooks through GoodReads and Amazon since 2018 and through my book review blog and social media accounts since 2019. All expressed thoughts and opinions are solely my own and unbiased. My preferred genres include thrillers, suspense, mystery, women's fiction, contemporary, romance, and (as of recently) children's books!

I am Macmillan Audio Auto-Approved on NetGalley. I'm a dedicated blogger/reviewer for #TeamBookouture, One More Chapter – a commercial fiction division of Harper Collins and an #oliveinfluencer for Harper Perennial, which is a paperback imprint of Harper Collins. Additionally, I am a Sourcebooks Early Reads Influencer. I'm on Carol Wyer's, Stacy Claflin's, Lucinda Berry's, and Gina LaManna's Street Team; I also read/review ARC's by Audrey Carlan and C.E. Johnson.

Reviews are regularly posted to the Misty's Corner Reviews: Blog, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook Page, and Pinterest. Reviews are also shared on GoodReads, BookBub, and any applicable retailers, including, but not limited to, Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, etc.  I have linked all relevant social media accounts to my profile.

On a personal note, I'm a Trucker’s Wifey and Stay-at-Home-Momma of 3. I've always been a book lover and have become, in my adult years, and unapologetic coffee addict because, let's face it - adulting's hard. First I drink the coffee, then I do the things. Here's to hoping that with some hot coffee, a cool chill, and a fresh, open mind, we can experience books together like a new found love! Get comfy & enjoy!

The Girl from Silent Lake - by Leslie Wolfe

Books-On-Tour Extract

Chapter One

She watched him through a blur of tears, her heart thumping against her ribcage, plastic ties cutting into her flesh as she struggled to free herself. The man’s back was turned to her while he arranged some objects on a tray, the soft metallic clinking a surreal omen that froze her blood and threw her thoughts into a whirlwind of sheer mindless terror.

She threw her daughter a quick glance, forcing herself to put hope and courage in her tear-filled eyes. Her eight-year-old daughter Hazel was bound on a chair only a few feet from hers. She whimpered, her little chest heaving with every shattered breath. When they locked eyes, Hazel’s sobs became louder, muffled by the scarf he’d tied over her mouth, yet still loud enough to get the man’s attention.

“Enough with it already,” he ordered in a low voice. He turned and took a few determined steps toward Hazel, then stopped, his menacing eyes inches away from her little girl’s.

damppebbles Blog Tour Review

Ladies and gentlemen, Carol Wyer has done it again! And by done it again, I, of course, mean - she has completely outdone herself! "An Eye for an Eye" starts off her new Detective Kate Young Series with a BANG! I was incredibly lucky to have received an advanced copy of this ebook; it has been extremely hard waiting until publication day to share this review as it is just - THAT GOOD!

After taking some forced time off to deal with the fallout of an earlier referenced trauma on the job, Detective Kate Young is, once again, called back in as lead DI for a VIP case. PTSD and medication aside, Kate is determined to get to the bottom of what ends up being a pretty warped string of events! Her comeback has many questioning her judgment and, in return, has her questioning a few as well. This detective is not one to be underestimated!

By the end, I could barely contain myself. Throughout the meticulous process of questioning suspects and following up on leads, I was holding on by the edge of my seat! Carol Wyer has written herself up an altogether brilliant new team! Undeniably, DI Young has a few somber memories to face, but even so, she was on her game! The momentary PTSD flashbacks served their purpose; they were insightful and well in-tune with the big picture. As for DS Morgan Meredith and DS Emma Donaldson, Wyer did a fantastic job drawing out their personalities and tying them together with Kate's. This novel's supporting cast, as a whole, is one I'm eager to return to in future installments. I'm excited at the prospect of seeing their unique character progressions and future cases.

The Other Mothers - by M.M. Chouinard

 ✨ Books-On-Tour Review ✨

The Other Mother's is the thoroughly addicting book four in the Detective Jo Fournier Novel series! Once again, I find myself thinking, 'how is this the first time I'm reading a book by XYZ author?' M.M. Chouinard fits this bill perfectly! Book four is my first, but it definitely won't be my last of her novels; I've already 1-clicked books one through three in this series!

I was 100% hooked right from the start; a detective struggling with a challenging personal situation pulled back into work early to lead a case involving the death of a kindergartner on school grounds, which is soon followed by a few more casualties. Who is keeping secrets, or better yet, who isn't in this uppity small-town? The deadliest secret is one that I can almost guarantee you'll never guess...

Jo is a solid female lead, easily likable, and relatable. I enjoyed reading through her inner monologues as she worked the case. I especially found a few of her interactions entertaining, not the subject matter of the case by any means, but more so the decision to either hold her tongue or put someone in their place!
