Release Date: 12/3/19
Reputation by Sara Shepard explores university life at its worst for both students and administration amidst a widely publicized and life-changing university hack. Watching Shepard's characters unfold and witnessing the choices they make to preserve their values was quite the ride and well worth the twisty read! A solid four-stars!

How important is your reputation, and what would you do to protect it? There comes a point when enough is enough. Most everyone has or will experience that one defining moment, their make or break moment. While we can’t always control what happens to us, we can control how we choose to react. Do we choose to defend our reputation or protect our self-image? Does it matter more how everyone else sees you or how you see yourself?

Part One of Reputation is a highly engaging introduction into the world of those most affected by the Aldrich University email hack! It's written from five differing perspectives and reads like a made for tv drama, which works perfectly for a Pretty Little Liars fan such as myself! Motives and emotions run high as scandals are uncovered left and right. One thing’s clear amidst all of the drama and uncertainty; everyone has a secret. Part one reveals just how unaware they all are of their connections to one another... until someone ends up dead. Cue prominent surgeon, Dr. Greg Strasser.

As the book progresses into Part Two, every chapter carefully ends with a cliffhanger, set on nudging the reader forward and across the finish line. I stayed up way too late because I just had to know the identity of the killer. Several times I thought I had it figured out, but the truth was much better! The only downfall, the single aspect that didn’t work well for me, was the number of twists and reveals. I enjoyed them all, but it felt a bit much at some points. There's also a case of the mystery texter/caller, which I felt could have been left out. However, if you can stretch your mind and try and place yourself within Aldrich University with your reputation under fire, then you’re in for a real treat! This novel is one you won't want to miss!

Reputation runs deep with scandals, cover-ups, secrets, and lies. I’d especially recommend this book to Sara Shepard’s already large fan base; it’s right up there with Pretty Little Liars and The Perfectionists. The main difference being that Reputation is an adult novel; it is not a YA novel. If you're looking for an intriguing read that explores multiple storylines within today’s ever-connected social media-obsessed society, then take a chance on Reputation. A little tip, take a few notes or make a few highlights along the way as it will help keep the many character narrations straight.
